KT recently held the title of Miss Michigan 2014. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. KT is a tireless advocate for children’s charities. In 2014, Governor Rick Snyder appointed KT to the Advisory Council on Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing. She also serves on the Wolverine Human Services Fresh Era Board and is a member of the Ann Arbor Host Lions Club. KT was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss at the age of nine and has committed herself to improving the lives of hearing impaired children. In 2012, she founded The KT Maviglia Fund for Hearing. Through her efforts, she has developed a far-reaching strategic plan to raise community awareness, provide financial support to families, and impact the future of insurance coverage for hearing devices. With the assistance of our Michigan legislators, KT introduced Senate Bill 449 in 2015. This bill seeks to establish an insurance mandate for hearing aid coverage in Michigan.
